The full NFL schedule release comes out on Wednesday night but this morning we were given the opening night game thanks to the Today Show.
Ah yes, what better way to open the season then shoving your second Super Bowl banner down the throats of your most hated rival.
A giant fuck you to the Dallas Cowboys and their entire shitty fan base and it makes my heart warm. I can only imagine Jerry Jones reaction when he was made aware he was going to have to sit through a banner raising ceremony for the Philadelphia Eagles.
This will be the first time the Eagles and Cowboys have played a game in September since 2021. Yes, it’s only May but the Eagles have opened up as 6.5 point favorites over the Cowboys. Plenty of time for the line to shift one way or another obviously but the early indications show what Vegas thinks of the Eagles going into the season.
Tickets for this one won’t be cheap either as expected. Banner night and biggest division rival, you’re going to pay a pretty penny to get into this one.
Honestly, this to me was the best option for the opening game for the Birds. It appeared that the other options were the likes of the Lions, Bears, and Commanders. The Lions would’ve been a solid choice as well as it was the playoff matchup that we didn’t get to see, the Bears aren’t a worthy opening night opponent(Sorry Big Cat), and the Commanders we had a Thursday night game against them last year so we didn’t really need that again.
Bottom line is this was the best option for the NFL, two teams and fanbases that hate each other kicking off the season as one of them raises their second Super Bowl banner.
I just know Cowboy fans are punching air right now knowing that their first game of the season will be delayed as we relive our dominant Super Bowl run and then go kick their teams ass to start our journey to repeat.

Go Birds Baby!
