Dude, enough is enough already with Aaron Nola. It’s like every fucking game the guy just has one inning where he forgets how to pitch and everything ends up in the stands.
Like does he just suck now? At some point that has to just be the case because this has been consistent over the last like three seasons. He’s getting paid way too much for this to keep being a thing.
The Phillies were up 5-1 in the 2nd game of yesterdays doubleheader and all it took was one inning for that to change. Nola let up three homeruns and only ended up going 3.2 innings and allowed 9 runs all of which were earned.
Thats pathetic for a guy that’s supposed to be a number 2 starter in this rotation or at least that’s what he’s getting paid to be.
Part of me wants to blame Toyota for the RAV4 4th inning cause that’s usually when shit hits the fan for Nola but yesterday he didn’t even make it that far.
Look i’ve been big on not trying to overreact to anything that has gone wrong for the Phillies this year but when it comes to Nola I have had enough. They really should’ve probably traded him last year or the year before because we all saw the signs of his downfall. Now, would a team really give up that much to acquire him? I know if I was a GM I wouldn’t.
It sucks cause the Phils have been hot as of late but Nola can’t keep having these kind of outings. I know it’s still only May but let’s be real here if this continues I don’t think anyone would be comfortable with him starting a playoff game in October when it really matters.
The Phillies lost game 2 of the doubleheader 14-7 in what ended up being just a ridiculous game all around but that still doesn’t excuse Aaron Nola’s performance.
They have an off day today before welcoming in the Pittsburgh Pirates for a weekend series.
