Some of you may see this and think why is this important. Well, I’ll tell ya why this could be very important and I might be going full tin foil hat here but bare with me.
Remember how back in 2004-2005 when the Penguins were on the verge of relocating cause they sucked ass and their fans are fair weather bitches who only care when the team is good?
Something happened that year where they ended up getting the first overall pick and the top prospect just happened to be a generational talent named Sidney Crosby. Flashforward and the Penguins started winning and became relevant again and there were no signs of them relocating.
Well…its 2025 and the Penguins are ass again and their ownership group is looking to sell. Crosby is at the tail end of his career, Malkin is just about washed, I can’t believe that Letang is still around and they don’t have a very promising list of prospects.
Next year theres a kid named Gavin McKenna who is projected to be the first overall pick. Very well could be the next generational talent I mean take a look at these highlights…
Now, the funny part is that one of the ownership groups looking to buy the Penguins is actually their former owners. Oh, and who just happens to be a part of that ownership group…former Pittsburgh Penguin Mario Lemieux.
So what am I getting at exactly? Well let’s just say the Penguins suck next year or even if they just miss the playoffs. Then they get sold back to Lemieux’s ownership group and next thing we know they are winning the draft lottery.
Would be real fucking convenient if somehow, someway the Penguins end up with the first overall pick next year. Crosby’s career ending with him getting to show the next superstar the ropes in McKenna, all the while Mario Lemieux gets to look on as part owner.
OH! Another thing that makes this all seems very fishy, reports are out there that McKenna is leaving the CHL and will be joining none other than the Penn State Nittany Lions hockey team for the next season. HMMMMMMMMMMM what city is a little over two hours from Happy Valley? That’s right Pittsburgh.
IM FUCKING ON TO YOU GARY AND I WILL NOT LET YOU GET AWAY WITH THIS AGAIN.
In all seriousness, McKenna possibly going to Penn State is actually huge for that program and great news for the NCAA. Penn State is trying to form a powerhouse and if you haven’t been watching Cawlidge Hawkey you should be.
Also, if somehow I am right about this and McKenna ends up in Pittsburgh and as a Flyers fan I am forced to hate him I will genuinely not be thrilled.
