I mean what the actual fuck Phillies. 10 Straight losses at Citi Field and these past three were pretty damn embarrassing. Blown out on Monday, blown late lead on Tuesday, topped off with being shut out on Wednesday. Can’t get much worse than that.
They started this series with a 7 game lead over the Mets and that’s now down to a 4 game lead with September knocking on the door. Is it me, or does this feel like it’s the same old Phillies who can’t get it done when it matters most.
Look, I know being swept by the Mets this week isn’t the end of the world and they could come home and win these next 4 games against the Braves and be right back in full control of the NL East. But thats not the point, you can’t tell me this series didn’t show that this team still has some major issues and they show up at the worst times.
Turner, Harper, and Schwarber are the top guys on this team and they didn’t play like it this entire series. Yes, I know Harper had 3 hits on Tuesday so he did his part for one game, but what about the other two? Don’t even get me started on him wearing Mets colors during Monday’s game to promote some bullshit rivalry apparel line or whatever.

Like what the fuck are we doing Bryce? One of the biggest series of the season is not the time to break this shit out.
I’m trying not to go full this team is cooked and they aren’t going to do anything when it comes playoff time, but it’s getting hard not to freak out right now. Wheeler is done for the year, Nola isn’t the same Nola, Duran is blowing saves, and the lineup is still inconsistent.
This team should be a World Series contender without a doubt, but there is a lot of doubt starting to creep into my mind and I know i’m not alone. This team needs to get its shit together or we might be in the midst of witnessing one of the biggest “What Ifs” team of all time.
Braves come in to town for a 4 game series starting tonight. Hopefully, we aren’t talking about the same things come Monday.
