Are The Packers More of A Threat To The Eagles With Micah Parsons?

Last Thursday the Green Bay Packers shocked the NFL world by trading for Dallas Cowboys All Pro Linebacker Micah Parsons.

It’s a move that could change the entire landscape of the NFC. The Green Bay Packers now have one of, if not the best defensive player in the league. The Packers ended last season as the 5th ranked defense and now adding the best linebacker in the league they could be the 1st ranked defense come the end of the season.

After going 11-6 last season, finishing 3rd in the NFC North and losing to the Philadelphia Eagles in the Wild Card round. Are the Packers now ready to take down the best of the NFC?

The NFC runs through Philadelphia as the Eagles are the defending Super Bowl Champions and the Packers know they will more than likely have to get through those Eagles if they want to get to San Fransisco come February.

While offensively the Packers are not as deep as the Eagles, they still have some great weapons including their quarterback Jordan Love. In his second season as the full time starter for Green Bay, Love finished with 25 TDs, 11 INTs, and threw for 3,389 yards even with missing two games due to injury.

Josh Jacobs had the most touchdowns of his career in his first season with Green Bay finishing with 15. He is poised to continue that success this year as he looks to cement his spot as a top running back in the NFL.

The receiving core is the big question mark for Green Bay. Christian Watson is out as he recovers from a torn ACL, Jayden Reed and Romeo Doubs are unproven, but put up some decent numbers, and Matthew Golden who the Packers took with the 25th overall pick in this past Aprils draft had two catches for 46 yards in the preseason but has a lot of potential to be a true number one WR.

So while the offense may not match up as well with the Eagles, the Packers adding Parsons to an already great defensive unit makes them much more of a threat to the Philadelphia Eagles getting back to the Super Bowl.

If Jordan Love can take that next step to becoming a top QB in the league, along with the defense continuing to be stellar, the Green Bay Packers have a very real chance at making a Super Bowl run.

We could be on a path that sees the Packers and Eagles meeting in the NFC Championship game to see who will be representing the NFC in Super Bowl LX in San Francisco.

Are you worried about the Packers any more now that they have Micah Parsons? Sound off in the comments, like and share!
