Yesterday the Philadelphia Sixers posted these photos along with a few video clips.
Typical off-season stuff right? RIGHT? No, the Sixers know exactly what they are doing here. Posting a clip of Joel Embiid shooting a jumper with no knee brace on.
We’ve heard basically nothing about the status of Embiid as we get closer to training camp. But based off this clip, it appears that the Sixers are expecting him to be a full go when training camp starts in two weeks.
Now look, with a healthy Embiid the Sixers are a legit contender in the Eastern Conference.
But one video of him shooting a jump shot with no brace will not bring me back in on this team…

Yet.
While it’s an exciting thing to see him possibly being fully healthy, I refuse to buy back in on the Sixers until I see more and know more about Embiid’s health.
They still have a lot of question marks considering we don’t know what version of Paul George we are going to get.
Sure, Maxey is a star and a healthy Embiid is a top 5 player in the league. But Paul George is a major question mark. Granted, we could be forgetting about him if Jared McCain just tears it up this season and that ends up as our new big 3(Maxey, Embiid, McCain). Plus can’t forget about Quinton Grimes and first round draft pick VJ Edgecomb.
If you know me, you know I’m not the biggest Sixers/NBA guy. However, I feel like I know enough to at least talk a little bit about them. I will say I tuned out last year pretty much right away. I maybe watch a grand total of 3 games last year and really didn’t keep up with them.
But, with this blog it is now my duty(unless someone wants to join the site as a strictly Sixers writer I’m very much open to bringing someone on. Let me know, you won’t get paid but hey exposure is always nice) to provide some sort of Sixers content the best that I can.
So for now, I am taking the cautious approach with the Sixers because I refuse to get excited about workout clips, I did that enough with Ben Simmons. Maybe once training camp gets going and I start seeing more healthy Embiid clips I’ll be fully back on board.
