Eagles Vs Buccaneers Takeaways

Ohhhh boy, well another week has come and gone and the Philadelphia Eagles are 4-0. Feels like I am saying the same thing every week, it wasn’t pretty but they got the job done.

This week was different though, the first half was the best half of football they played all season. It started with the special teams once again, this time blocking a punt and taking it back for a touchdown.

Things were going great in the first half, the sun and the Buccaneers couldn’t slow the Eagles down. The defense was shutting Baker and the Bucs down and the offense was clicking on all cylinders.

Dallas Godert had himself a hell of an afternoon, scoring two touchdowns.

It seemed like nothing could go wrong for the Birds, we even saw a new look to the Tush Push…

But after this something changed…I don’t know what the hell happened but the offense went dark. They couldn’t get anything going in the air or on the ground.

Jalen Hurts went 0/8 passing and only managed 20 yards for the entire second half. They had 5 count that again FIVE three and outs in the second half. Completely unacceptable.

Don’t get me wrong the Buccaneers are a good team, they really are. But I really don’t get what happened to the Eagles offense in the second half. Whether it was the play calling or just the Bucs defense playing better a half like that can’t happen.

Thankfully, they were up by enough at that point that they were able to survive but it was way closer than it should have been. The offense needs to be taking the defense out for a nice steak dinner after this one. If it wasn’t for a late Jihaad Campbell interception we could be talking about an embarrassing loss.

So once again the Eagles survive and are now 4-0. Still sitting atop the NFC East and are 1 of the 2 remaining undefeated teams in the NFL. Am I worried about how they have looked? Yes, a little bit I am but again the starters didn’t play in the preseason and we have a new coordinator. They have come out of what is likely the toughest part of their schedule and are 4-0. Not there schedule gets much easier going forward but these were 4 games in a row that were far from easy.

I am not feeding into the AJ Brown tweet drama, I refuse to do it. My only comment is that he is a competitor and is unhappy that he hasn’t been producing up to his standard. Until it becomes a problem, it’s not a problem we all tweet out stupid shit when we are upset/angry so that is all it is.

Go Birds.
