It is that time of year again here in Philadelphia. Red October is set to begin on Saturday, the Birds season is in full swing, and yes I am including them the Philadelphia Flyers season starts next week.
This is how we are all going to be looking going into work next week. It’s one of the best times of year. Playoff baseball almost every night then we get a Sunday AND Thursday Birds game. Your sleep schedule is going to be fucked, you’re going to be drunk 8 of the 7 days of the week, your wallet is going to be empty, and we are either going to be the happiest or angriest fan base in all of sports over these next few weeks.
I can’t wait. Literally could not be more excited to see the atmosphere of Red October back again there aren’t many better things in all of sports.
I’m hoping to get down to another postseason game this year but it won’t be for the DS series, I’m saving it for the later rounds ;). The Birds have two big games against the Broncos and then a Thursday night game against the Giants. The Flyers open their season on the road before their home opener on the 13th.
Thursday, October 9th is the day that could be insane for us Philly fans. Birds vs Giants at 8pm, Phillies vs TBD at 7ish, and the Flyers open their season against the Panthers at 7pm. Three possible games all going on at the same time, it’s going to be electric.
There’s nothing you can do to prepare for this, you just have to embrace the lack of sleep your going to get and the amount of drinking you’re going to be doing. Remember this is what we live for, so let’s embrace what is about to be the craziest time of the year for us.
