Phillies Struggles: A Disappointing Start to the Season

The Philadelphia Phillies are exactly who we thought they were. Shockingly, the whole running it back thing isn’t off to a great start.

After not doing anything in the offseason other than replacing Casteanallos with Garcia and giving Crawford a shot in CF the Phillies are off to a 1-3 start. Essentially the same lineup and the same bums not producing like we’ve seen for the last 4 years. I mean look at these numbers…

Yea we’re only four games into the season but would you expect anything else from Philly fans than go full negadelphia?

Fucking Brandon Marsh is leading the team in batting average. Good for Marshy don’t get me wrong but are we serious. Sure Schwarber hit a HR on opening day and they had that exciting comeback that fell short on Saturday. But in reality this team sucks right now. Bryce Harper hit a clutch home run in the World Baseball Classic and we forgot how ass he is for like a week.

1-16 with 2 walks and 4 strikeouts…so glad he’s getting paid $330 million dollars and wants to get paid more. How about you learn how to hit the fucking ball again before asking for more money.

Don’t even get me started with the off the field stuff either. Getting rid of Harry The K’s for Ghost Energy is pathetic. They replaced the clock in center field with the All Star Game logo which is fine but then to say the clock won’t be put back up is ridiculous.

It feels like Middleton is trying to do everything he can to piss off the fan base. Well hey buddy congrats you’ve succeeded.

Fans are going to have a short leash when it comes to the Phillies this year and they have every right to. They have fallen into Sixers territory where the fans are tired of the same old thing every year. Yes, it’s still early and I’m sure they will get it figured out and the bats will warm up. But you can’t fault fans for feeling the way they do after the first four games of the season with how last season ended and the lack of offseason moves.

What’s probably going to end up happening is they are gonna keep this slow start going and Rob Thomson is going to get the shit end of the stick and get canned because the same players that have struggled continue to struggle. Granted his lineup decisions are already becoming a talking point considering Stott and Crawford were sitting for back to back games because of the matchups.

I hate that, not saying it would’ve made a big difference in yesterday’s blowout loss to the Nationals but those are supposed to be your everyday guys. It’s four games into the season let’s stop making the lineup based on who the other team has on the mound it’s too early for that shit.

Whatever. Andrew Painter makes his big league debut tonight so that’s exciting. Also knowing them they will either score 20 runs or possibly get no hit, that’s how this lineup is.

I’m trying not to freak out four games into the season but you can’t blame me.
