Tyson Foerster Poised for Flyers Return: Impact on Playoff Push

I know we are all very excited about the upcoming debut of Porter Martone tonight, but there is some other big news brewing on the Flyers front…

Yes, indeed that is Tyson Foerster wearing a regular practice jersey for the Philadelphia Flyers compared to the non-contact one. Granted this was just an optional skate where a few guys hit the ice with Porter Martone to get some work in on an off day.

Buuuuuuuuuuuttttttt, sources are saying that Tyson Foerster, who was originally ruled out for the rest of the year may be returning as soon as next week/early the following week. Foerster has been out since early December with a shoulder injury.

Foerster has been traveling with the team and could be cleared for contact by the end of the week. If that is the case then as long as all goes well there is a chance he could be available for games next week. Obviously the Flyers wouldn’t risk his long term health, but you can bet they would want to reward his hard work during recovery with some games at the end of the year.

Could you imagine the boost this would give the Flyers in the middle of this playoff push. Adding another dynamic winger back into the lineup could put the Flyers in position to solidify their spot in the playoffs. Some people may not think much of it, but a player returning really can do wonders for the locker room. Especially a guy that is as well liked as Tyson Foerster, you know the boys are going to be fired up when he draws back into the lineup.

The Flyers are in a position to be tied for the final wildcard spot with a win.
