After all the talking, overthinking, second-guessing and pretending I knew what was going to happen in Week 1, the picks actually came through. Walsh’s Winners went 11-5 in Week 1.
Not bad.
Now, obviously, I’m not going to sit here and act like I’ve figured out the NFL after one week. Because I haven’t. It’s Week 2. We’ve got approximately 16 more weeks of me being completely wrong about games I was “100% confident” in.
But for one week at least, I was right more than I was wrong.
And that means it’s time to get back to work.
Week 2 is loaded with some really good matchups, starting with the Lions heading to Buffalo on Thursday night opening up the Bills new stadium, and ending with the Giants taking on the Rams on Monday night. We’ve got divisional rivalries, teams looking to avoid starting 0-2, and teams trying to prove Week 1 wasn’t a fluke.
Basically, there are 16 more opportunities for me to either look like I know what I’m talking about or completely embarrass myself.
So let’s run it back.

Probably not.

Two teams that know each other extremely well, and two fan bases that probably aren’t going to be particularly happy by the end of the afternoon.

It’s Eagles time.
Philadelphia heads to Tennessee looking to start the season 2-0.
After opening the year against Washington, the Eagles now get a Titans team that will be trying to make life difficult in Nashville.
The Eagles should have every intention of taking care of business here.
No excuses.
No overlooking the opponent.
Go 2-0 and move on.

Green Bay heads into New York for a matchup that could tell us a lot about both teams.
The Packers are looking to bounce back after a poor showing in week 1.

This is the type of game where one team looks like a playoff contender for three hours and then gets blown out the following week.

Baltimore at home. Who knows about Zay Flowers availability. The Saints looked frisky last week but still don’t think they are very good.

Now THIS is an interesting one.
Joe Burrow and the Bengals head into Houston to take on a Texans team that has its own playoff aspirations.
This has the potential to be one of the best games of the early window.

I’m going to be honest. This might be the easiest pick of the weekend. The Browns STINK. Tampa isn’t going 0-2.

This feels like one of those games that could be decided by whoever makes the fewest completely unnecessary mistakes. Will it be two straight weeks where Herbie has been too busy with Madison Beer? I don’t think so.

The defending champions hit the road.
Arizona gets them in the desert.
And Seattle gets another chance to remind everyone why they’re the team holding the Lombardi Trophy. Drew Lock gets another chance to prove he can be a starter.

This one might get ugly, the Dolphins are bad, like really bad. The 49ers are also coming off a huge win over the Rams and they are going to build off that.

Need I say more?
The Colts walk into one of the toughest environments in the NFL, while Kansas City gets another primetime stage.
If Monday night was a preview of what we can expect from the Chiefs this year then the Colts are in trouble.

And we close out the week in Los Angeles.
The Giants head west to take on the Rams in what should be an interesting Monday night matchup.
By this point, we’ll have spent three straight days watching football.
And somehow we’ll still be upset that the season isn’t moving fast enough. I will not be one of those people. The Giants looked good but no way the Rams start 0-2
